Backing up your personal data; documents, music, pictures, emails, etc. is incredibly important. Most users don’t actually realize the importance of backing up their data. Those that have lost data realize very quickly that spending the extra money could have saved them from the headache and loss of irreplaceable memories. In past times sales people didn’t focus on this aspect of the sale but times are starting to change.
There are a few things to consider when choosing backup solutions today. Before the “Cloud” people may have used an external hard drive or USB device to backup their data. Today there are solutions such as the “Cloud.” Some of the providers I’ve heard of and personally used are: CrashPlan, Mozy, Memeo, etc. This is by far the best method as your data is stored remotely “offsite” meaning your home could burn down or flood and the data would still be safe. There are risks when storing your data with a third party, however they are minimal when comparing the loss of irreplaceable memories.
